Dr. Melissa Feltes

Dr. Melissa Feltes, born and raised in eastern Iowa, developed her passion for veterinary medicine early on. She earned her undergraduate degree in Animal Science from Iowa State University before completing her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at ISU’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 1999. After graduation, she moved to Illinois, gaining extensive experience in the northwest suburbs and southeast Wisconsin before joining Mundelein Animal Hospital in 2025.

Dr. Feltes has a strong dedication to preventative care, internal medicine, and end-of-life support. She has pursued specialized training in ultrasound, focusing on abdominal and cardiac imaging through the Academy of Imaging in Texas. Additionally, she became Fear Free Certified in 2017 and has maintained Elite status since 2020, ensuring a stress-free experience for her patients. Her approach to veterinary care is rooted in compassion, communication, and education, fostering strong relationships with both pets and their owners.

Beyond the clinic, Dr. Feltes enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters. She shares her home with a rescue Oriental Shorthair named Lacey, a standard poodle named Charlie, a senior rabbit named Cinnamon, and a lively flock of 23 chickens—each named after a flower. Her hobbies include photography, traveling, scrapbooking, crafting, and indulging in all things Disney.
